Task 1 Audio Script

Dialogue 1

Alex: Hi, I’m Alex. I’m Tony’s brother.

Carmen: Hi, Alex. I’m Carmen.

Alex: Oh, you must be Uncle Bob’s daughter. It’s kind of funny to come to my grandparents’ anniversary and meet a cousin for the first time.

Dialogue 2

Dan: Excuse me, are there any coffee cups around here?

Teresa: There may be some in the cabinet, but usually everyone brings their own coffee cups.

Dan: Oh, I’m new here, so I didn’t know. My name is Dan.

Teresa: Nice to meet you, Dan. I’m Teresa. I work in marketing. Where do you work?

Dan: I work in accounting.

Dialogue 3

Jill: I wonder if you could help me?

Scott: Sure. What do you need?

Jill: I just signed up for this class, so I missed last week’s lectures. Would you mind if I copied your notes?

Scott: Not at all. I hope you can read them. My writing is kind of messy.

Jill: Thanks a lot. By the way, my name is Jill.

Scott: I’m Scott. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Jill.

Dialogue 4

Jennifer: The bus is crowded today.

Brad: It sure is.

Jennifer: Say, don’t I know you from somewhere?

Brad: Uh, I don’t think so.

Jennifer: You look very familiar to me. Did you happen to go to Plymouth Elementary School?

Brad: Yes, I did. Wait a minute. Jennifer? Jennifer Wilcox?

Jennifer: Yes.

Brad: It’s me, Brad Carson. Oh my gosh.

Jennifer: It’s funny we didn’t recognize each other. We always used to play together. How have you been?

Dialogue 3

Greg: Sarah, let me introduce you to my wife.

Sarah: Hello, it’s so nice to finally meet you.

Greg’s wife: It’s nice to meet you too. Greg has told me so much about you.

Sarah: All good things, I hope.

Dialogue 4
