According to Australia health direct, there are 8 tips for maintaining a better work-life balance.
1) Know your values. Give yourself time to think about what is important to you in life. How much time do you devote to your top priorities? Consider your passions and interests. And make time for the things that bring you joy.
2) Practice time management. Calendars, apps, and to-do lists are all effective methods for tracking how you spend your time. Analyze your typical week to reduce time waste. Shop online. Avoid social media if possible. And cancel non-essential meetings.
3) Set boundaries. Set limits on your work time and make time for other activities. After office hours, switch off the office phone. Limit your access to work emails or go internet-free for a few hours. And learn how to say “no.”
4) Enjoy your work. It has become a popular phrase, “do what you love, and love what you do.” While all work can be boring or stressful at times, if you dislike your job, if it’s making life difficult, think about changing jobs or even careers.
5) Consider your finances. Do you need a new car? Could you be happy if you lived in a smaller house or location? According to research, once our basic needs are met, a higher income does not always lead to happiness. Spending less money may result in fewer work hours and more time to enjoy life.
6) Nurture relationships. Positive relationships and social support help build flexibility and help you handle stress. These, however, take time to nurture and develop. Make time for your family, friends, neighbors, or loved ones.
7) Focus on your health. Regular exercise is proven not only to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, but also to improve your health and quality of life. Get enough sleep at regularly scheduled times, eat healthy foods, drink alcohol in control, and avoid illegal drugs.
8) Have downtime. Rest periods are essential for success because they recharge our batteries. Schedule regular time off each week for yourself. Read a book, play sports, spend time in nature, or simply do nothing. Choose any activity that you enjoy.
