📄 Audio Script

I started my career as a junior clerk. I had to handle the paperwork and organise the office files. I also answered the phone and dealt with visitors at the front desk.

I worked in a small accounting firm in the city center. I worked for a manager named Mr. Henderson. He was the head of the department. I enjoyed it because I liked my colleagues. However, sometimes the work was a bit boring because I had to type the same data into spreadsheets every day. I worked from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. I usually had to stay late only once a month for the “end-of-month” reports.

I worked there for three years. I started as an intern and then they offered me a full-time contract. The salary was okay for a first job. It wasn’t a lot of money, but it was enough to pay my rent and save a little bit for holidays. Every morning, I was responsible for opening the mail and scanning documents. During the day, I scheduled appointments for the accountants and updated the customer database. I also prepared coffee for important meetings.

My co-workers were very helpful. They were hard-working but also very friendly. We often had lunch together in a small café near the office.
